Four skills that improve at different speeds
Most learners can read far better than they can speak. Practising each skill separately shows you which one is lagging.
01
See where you actually are
An estimated level for each skill, so the gap between what you can read and what you can say stops being a guess.
02
Find what's holding you back
Not just a score. Which errors recur, which part of the task you're losing marks on, and what to fix next time.
03
Build the reflexes
Timed reading, audio that plays once, a conversation you have to keep going. Fluency comes from pressure, not from rules.
What the feedback looks like
Written work comes back corrected and grouped by pattern. Speaking is a real conversation with an examiner who pushes back.

Reading
Compréhension écrite40 questions · 60 minutesFour sections, from short practical documents through to longer opinion pieces. Scored the moment you submit, with a written explanation for every answer so you understand why you missed what you missed.
Listening
Compréhension orale40 questions · 40 minutesConversations, announcements, street interviews and longer discussions. Each recording plays once while you're working — then you can replay everything as often as you like while reviewing.

Speaking
Expression oraleTwo tasks · 15 minutesA live conversation with an AI examiner: first a receptionist you have to question, then a friend you have to convince. Formal and informal register, and a minute to prepare before each.

Questions
Do I need to be preparing for an exam?
No. The exercises follow the format and timing of TEF Canada, which makes them useful if you're sitting it — but they're built to make you better at French. Reading under time pressure, listening once and having to catch it, defending an opinion out loud: those are the things that move you forward whether or not you ever book a test.
How accurate are the levels?
They're estimates. Assessment is automated, so it can only approximate what a certified examiner would give you, and it can vary slightly between attempts on the same work. Use it to find weak spots and track improvement rather than as a definitive verdict.
How does the speaking practice work?
You speak into your microphone and an AI examiner replies in character — a receptionist for the first task, a sceptical friend for the second. At the end, both conversations are assessed for task completion, coherence, vocabulary and fluency. It needs Chrome or Edge on desktop, since it relies on browser speech recognition that other browsers don't support.
Are my recordings stored?
No. Audio is sent for assessment and discarded when the request finishes. Nothing about your voice is written to our database or storage.
How does buying work?
There's no subscription. You unlock individual tests when you want them, and once your attempts are used, a retake costs less than the original unlock.
What if an evaluation fails?
Your attempt is returned automatically and you can try again. If our infrastructure has a problem, you shouldn't lose what you paid for.
Worth being clear about
Levels shown here are practice estimates, not official results. They're produced automatically and can only ever approximate what a certified examiner would give you. Use them to find your weak spots and track whether you're improving.
